Piston bulk trailers are an incredible improvement over hopper
trucks or 55-gallon drum barrels. The piston tank method wastes
virtually no product, works faster, and saves money.
Whether you're a manufacturer or recipient of bulk viscous commodities, Piston Bulk Trailers can improve your bottom line. If you ship commodities such as grease, uncured silicone caulk, printer ink, peanut butter, auto undercoating sealant or any other type of viscous product, our Piston Bulk Trailers can provide your business with decreased costs and increased productivity easily.
By utilizing a patented foam product seal around the piston,
our piston bulk trailers are more efficient and cost-effective
than any other method currently available. The development of
an alternative seal was warranted to solve four major problems
with previous designs.
- Product "Blow-By", or seepage around the edges of the piston, wasting product and allowing air contamination into the product
- Pump failure due to air pockets in the product
- Unexpected and catastrophic seal failure - using the necessary force to make an affective seal against variations in the tank diameter, pneumatic seals would often burst, causing the piston to fail completely.
- Unreliable and inaccurate gauges monitoring piston position
The main problem that is overlooked by our competitors is that trailers do not typically have a consistent diameter along the entire length of the truck. Foam seals compensate for the variations in width, therefore eliminating any breach in the seal. By utilizing the patented foam product seal on our piston bulk trailers, the piston is an effective seal against either compartment contaminating the other, eliminating blow-by and air contamination into the product and pump.
In a 1998 study by a major manufacturer of viscous product, the
foam seal method was put to the test against a traditional mechanical-spring
type seal. The mechanical seal allowed more than ten times the
amount of blow-by than the new foam product seals.
Our trailers utilize the latest in laser gauge technology. These
guages have been developed to provide a more accurate and dependable
piston position monitor when coupled with a custom microprocessor.
